Prior to the meeting a dinner was held at Tom’s Family Restaurant in Lower Sackville where everyone enjoyed a beautiful meal. At the meeting the WGM had the pleasure of presenting Peggy Plonka with her 35 year pin. Peggy joined Eastern Star at the age of 18 and after moving to Bedford affiliated with Kwebec Chapter in 2000. Peggy is shown in the picture with the WGM receiving her pin. The annual Ray Gray Memorial Christmas Party took place at the Bedford Lodge Hall on Saturday, November 28, 2009 beginning with the usual delicious pot luck supper followed by a few good tunes by Graham Bowser (Kwebec Chapter No.27). Then came Santa Claus (PGP Ted Caulier) for his yearly visit handing out candy canes. Each year tickets are sold on a draw for Christmas gifts with the proceeds being donated to the Children’s Wish Foundation. This year Margie Welsh, Administrative Assistant was there to accept the donation on behalf of the Foundation presented by Janet Merry (PM of Kwebec Chapter No.27) along with Rob Hillier (Past Master of John Albro Lodge). Al Casey, Master of John Albro Lodge presented a cheque to Margie on behalf of his Lodge. Shown in the pictures are OES members along with family and friends enjoying an evening of fellowship. Even the ‘kitchen workers’ enjoy a good meal. The event was started in 1995 and keeps growing each year.
